What to consider when purchasing a pet portrait

These are things pet owners might want to consider when ordering a portrait of a pet.

  • Providing photos. High-resolution images are preferred. Please avoid using low-resolution pixelated images. Often pictures taken with a mobile phone produce poor quality images but they are getting better. Small images or blurry photographs with low detail are not acceptable to work from. If you have a specific photo or pose you want your artist to work with, just let us know. Send pictures that have appealing light on the subject to insure the best portrait. Strong light in pictures with deep shadows are difficult references for portraits and may produce unwanted results. Please send 2-4 photographs of subject if possible. **Please read "10 Tips for better pet pictures" or contact us if you have questions about the quality of the pictures or if you have any other questions.

  • Size. Animal House Portraits offers a wide range of sizes for your painting. The first thing you might want to consider is where you plan on hanging your portrait. This as that can greatly influence which size is best. Our sizes vary from aa 8″ x 10″, 11″x14″, to 16″x20.
